Frequently Asked Questions
Am I required to have my own domain name and hosting package?
The Noritsu Web Kiosk subscription includes hosting, however, you will need to purchase a domain name for your website. We recommend using www.123-reg.co.uk, from which a .co.uk domain name will cost approximately £3 per year. Should you want to maintain your current web host and website front-end you could create a link from this front-end to the web kiosk hosted on our servers. Alternatively, you could create a cname record to point at the web kiosk, informing us when you do this.
What software will my customers have to download to be able to use the Web Kiosk?
Does the Noritsu Web Kiosk work on both PCs and Macs?
Yes, the Web Kiosk works on Macs, Linux machines and Windows machines. In that it doesn't require the installation of software or plug-ins, working solely through a web browser, it is independent of the user's operating system.
What browser would you recommend using?
The Web Kiosk works on all modern browsers, however we would recommend Firefox, for many, many reasons, not the least of which is that it is about most stable and secure web browser out there. Similarly, we would recommend Chrome, Safari and Opera, these being very similar in terms of their performance, security and stability. However, that's not to say that the Web Kiosk doesn't work on Internet Explorer (IE), we just don't recommend that anyone use IE as a browser!
If a customer starts creating a photobook, say, and doesn't finish it, can they come back to it at a later date?
Yes, it will be saved for a minimum of 10 days in case a customer wishes to complete it later.
How do I know when people have ordered something from my website?
The Noritsu Web Kiosk has an administrative control panel from which you can view both the state of all orders and the website's configuration. Upon your Web Kiosk being set up, you will be given username and password details which will enable you to access this control panel via a web browser. This means that you can view your orders both from your store and remotely.
What about customer support?
You can contact Noritsu directly for your customer support (see the 'Contact Us' section for contact details). Alternatively, if you have development inquiries or requests these can be sent to the development team directly whose details are available from Noritsu.
